loan finder scam review
Is this a scam?
I have been offered an "independent" review of my finances by my bank. Do you think this is a scam or is it worth bothering with? I don't want to turn up and them to go over the numbers and decide to "offer" me a new loan (which I can't afford). I think its a scam as they have phoned my mobile number about 10 times about this.
Any thoughts?

loan finder scam review number
Scam? I am not sure. I have seen adverts on TV about banks doing loan and cashflow reviews so it could be legit.
I am a bit dubious of people ringing my mobile number and claiming they are from the bank and then demanding *MY* personal info so I can prove who I am.
If in doubt phone the bank directly and block the potential scam number.
The review might be worth it but I guess you'll find that they will give you the hard sell re: loans, payment protection, saving more etc etc.

loan finder forums scam review
Sounds like a scam to me.
There are a number of telephone scams going about at the mo. There is currently a huge con with people ringing up and pretending to be Microsoft and charging a fee to fix non existent problems.
The scam starts with a call which goes through the usual security checks before saying they are calling for Microsoft. They say they have reports from your ISP of serious virus problems from your computer.
They then tell you that your computer is full of virus and illegal porn pics.
You will be directed to your computer and asked to open a program called “Windows Event Viewer”. It shows a bunch of normal(ish) errors and scary messages.
You’re then sent to a website and told to download a program that hands over remote control of your computer and the caller "installs" various "fixes" for the "problem". Then you are charged a £185 fee. Anyone falling for this will have handed over every bit of data from their computer.

bpearce - thanks for the reply. It's always nice to get some positive reviews as this site seems to focus on the negative reviews (based on the number of scam posts!)
If I am short of cash i might check them out
